M.A., LMFT # 48768“My most valued aspect of the entire counseling process is the therapeutic relationship my clients and I form together as we journey to deeper self-understanding, self-acceptance, and a willingness to learn new ways of being in control.”
-Carisa SherwoodMy Areas of Expertise:
I am a wife and mother of three children that realizes that I have to work on my relationships with my loved ones and friends everyday. I realize it is not something to take for granted. I have been through a lot in my life and have done a great deal of personal growth. One of the reasons I decided to go into this field was because I have felt like I have been a “therapist” all of my life. I truly care for and have love for all of my clients, friends, family, and all people. Being of multi-cultural descent I feel I relate to all ethnicities, however my main culture is American. I find that I build a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients and your main goal becomes my goal. I will push when I need to push and back off when I need to back off. In my studies, I have knowledge and training in multiple theoretical orientations. However, I do not just practice one, I like to meet with someone first and then match the best method to the individual, couple, or situation. My preferences include experiential, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and structural. My specialties include working with those struggling with personality disorders, LGBTQ, high conflict couples, helping couples build intimacy, sports psychology, teaching effective emotional processing techniques that directly improve reacting emotionally, anger impulses, depression, anxiety, decreasing shame and guilt, and effectively processing grief, loss, abuse, and/or trauma.

I hope to instill positive change and insight in my clients by allowing them to explore their inner feelings and thoughts in a safe space that is equally as supportive and empowering. The therapeutic relationship is something that is proven to be one of the most effective aspects of therapy and it is my priority to ensure my client’s safety, comfort, and level of disclosure is on their terms. Being a trainee therapist who is dedicated to being educated in diverse populations as well as practicing from a multicultural point of view is something that I hold close to my heart. From individuals, to children, to couples, to families, I provide equitable therapy to any dynamic of people.
As far as modality, I utilize the theory that is best suited to my client because one size does not fit all. I practice in Contextual therapy, systems theory, and more. Through a variety of techniques such as active listening, fostering self-awareness, free association, a strengths-based perspective, and more, I am confident in being a positive outlet for my clients.

Something I believe in greatly is that reaching out for help can be a very vulnerable experience, but also a great attribute of strength and resilience. While nobody’s story is the same, at some point in life everyone may come across obstacles or struggles that may seem too difficult, especially alone. My approach in therapy is to offer a collaborative, empathetic, and supportive experience while working towards developing skills, self-awareness, and tools to navigate life’s journey. I do not believe that one therapeutic style fits all. My goal is to be adaptable to each individual, family, or couple’s personal needs and goals.

Throughout our life experiences we sometimes become clouded by the obstacles that life throws at us, which may cause for our inner voice, your true self, to get pushed down in the process. This ultimately can lead to making decisions that we’re not happy with. My goal is to assist you with guiding out that inner voice into the open and utilizing it to work together to tackle present challenges, while providing an accepting and safe environment for you to be yourself. I believe you have an array of strengths, abilities and skills that can be utilized to assist with the challenges at hand. By bringing awareness to them and providing you with additional skills to add to your repertoire, it can help with keeping your true self from being silenced.
I enjoy working through a person-centered and multicultural point of view, to offer individualized treatment that will help us dictate which therapeutic approach would best serve your goals. My education, training and experience have prepared me to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, a wide range of multicultural backgrounds, the LGBTQIA+ community, and a multitude of mental disorders/challenges. I believe that you already took an essential step by pursuing therapy and I look forward to getting to know you as we work together to reach your goals.

My goal for therapy is to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to grow, heal, and discover yourself. Starting therapy and reaching out for help can be scary. However, I believe it is worth it and rewarding to take the risk. Through building rapport and creating a therapeutic relationship, I hope to help work through whatever is brought into the office in a non-judgmental, collaborative way. It is important to me that identifying and highlighting strengths will be at the forefront of therapy to facilitate growth and destigmatize mental health concerns.
My training has prepared me to work with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families through a multicultural and trauma informed lens. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities. I believe it is important to find what works for you on an individual level and break away from what life “should” look like. When working with clients, I use various techniques from Existential/Humanistic Therapy, Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, and Narrative Therapy. I look forward to working with you and meeting you where you are at!

I have been working in the mental health field since 2016 in a variety of roles, and I am deeply passionate about helping others heal and make sense of their experiences. As a therapist, I aim to create a collaborative, person-centered space where people feel seen and supported.
My approach to therapy emphasizes respect, non-judgment, and acceptance, with a focus on relational healing. I work to co-create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood, and my goal is to nurture a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters growth, resilience, and empowerment. My Areas of Expertise:
For starters, congratulations, you have finished the hardest part. Recognizing that help is needed. From a theoretical standpoint, I firmly believe in humanistic and positive psychology approaches like narrative and solution-focused therapy. I prefer these approaches because they are strengths-based and place your strengths at the center of recovery, and you pick the pace we move at during our time together. I work with all types of issues, trauma, depression, personality disorders, and even non-clinical issues.
A little bit about myself is that I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, married for some time now, and I have over five years of experience working in inpatient psychiatric mental health care, so please do not be shy about your issues, it won't scare me off.

—Carl RogersMy Areas of Expertise:
My approach to therapy is informed by my relationships and upbringing, my education and training, and my life experience. I am the second eldest of four brothers, a son, a grandson, a nephew and a cousin, an uncle, and a friend. My upbringing in a large, interfaith family has exposed me to many of the complexities that individuals and families face in navigating their relationships with each other, their community, and the greater world. I gravitated towards psychology and philosophy in college, earning my undergraduate degree in World Religions from the University of California, at Davis in 2005. Since then, I have been driven by an unbridled fascination with the human condition, and a desire to discover true meaning, purpose, and balance in what can often feel like a chaotic and harsh world. Before pursuing a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I taught a range of subjects in a number of different settings, including Beijing, China over the course of ten years. I am deeply grateful for all of the support and opportunity I have had in my own journey, and am admittedly a bit idealistic in my belief that most people possess tools and strengths that can help them become active participants in the direction their lives take. My therapeutic style is collaborative, grounded, and compassionate. I believe in meeting clients where they are, while gently challenging them to explore deeper patterns and possibilities for growth. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals, couples, and families can access their own insight and resilience. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, reduce suffering, and cultivate greater connection with themselves and others.
I draw from a number of theoretical orientations, including psychodynamic, existential, narrative, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I specialize in working through life transitions, relationship and communication issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, identity development, and trauma.

The therapeutic relationship between a client and therapist is one of the most important factors to client success. My Areas of Expertise:
My approach to therapy integrates Gestalt and psychodynamic perspectives, creating a space where we can explore both your present experiences and how your past may influence your current patterns. I believe that healing happens through meaningful relationships, which forms the foundation of our therapeutic work together. Drawing from mindfulness practices and somatic approaches, I help clients reconnect mind and body to develop greater awareness of their physical sensations and emotional responses.
I understand that we are all shaped by our relationships and family systems. Whether you're navigating complex family dynamics, processing religious trauma or spiritual abuse, or seeking to build healthier connections with others, I provide a compassionate environment for exploration and growth. I'm particularly passionate about psychodynamic work and depth psychology, exploring how unconscious processes influence our lives, while also incorporating approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to address how trauma and emotions are held in the body. I also value Jungian dream work as a powerful gateway to the unconscious, helping clients uncover meaningful symbols and patterns that can illuminate their inner landscape and path toward wholeness.
As someone committed to inclusive care, I offer gender-affirming therapy and neurodiversity-affirming approaches that honor your unique identity and neurological makeup. My background in social justice-oriented education has strengthened my commitment to cultural humility and equity in the therapeutic relationship. I recognize that each person's journey is distinct, and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and goals.
In our work together, I value your inherent wisdom about your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance and tools while honoring your autonomy and strength. I believe deeply in human resilience and the transformative power of unconditional support. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I'm committed to meeting you exactly where you are while providing steady, attuned support for your growth and healing.

“When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision.”
– Paul Coelho, The Alchemist
My Areas of Expertise:I imagine life as an ocean. As we sail through our journey, large waves may knock us off balance. Sometimes, we remain on course, but other times, those waves affect our sense of direction. We need to check our compass to help us navigate and find our way. My goal is to be a guide for others through their life journey.
I’ve always had empathy for those who are struggling. I was approached in middle school to become a peer counselor and continued to serve in this capacity through high school. Later, I became a junior varsity football coach where I taught more than just football skills, often finding that the young men needed life coaching as well. I have worked with young people, youth in the juvenile justice system, and children in foster care. I have assisted those struggling with substance use disorders and individuals of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and chronic pain.
Therapeutic Style:
In my studies, I learned that a lot of us are trying to find a balance between how we feel, how we think, and what we do. I believe that solutions to problems come from taking actions to change behavior. For this reason, I focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with the emphasis on behavior. I also ascribe to the principles of Choice Theory, which recognizes that people choose their own behaviors to meet their needs. Assessing how we think, acknowledging and responding to how we feel, both physiologically and emotionally, and evaluating our behaviors help us to better meet our needs and find our balance.
I believe that every individual is unique, so the methods used will be based on helping you make the changes you want. I want to help you find a sense of direction and discover effective tools to improve your situation and create a sense of wellbeing. Whether I’m given the opportunity to help children who just started to embark on their journey be steered away from the dark seas or a chance to throw a lifeline to someone already trapped in a current that is trying to pull them down, I want to share the navigational tools and life skills with those in need.

Hello, I’m KevinMy healing journey began in 2017. I was separated from the Marine Corps and shortly after made the most difficult decision of my life by turning away from using drugs and alcohol as my solution to life. Since then I have embraced a new manner of living and committed my life to helping others. Taking things one step at a time and trusting the process, my path has led me here!
My areas of Expertise:
I believe that each person needs to be met and accepted where they are. The healing journey begins there. Everyone has their own unique needs and therefore the approach must be tailored appropriately. My job is to be helpful, period. I believe in trusting the process, doing the best with what we have, and leaving the results up to the universe.
I love working with all people, but I am uniquely passionate about substance abuse recovery. I am also very comfortable incorporating faith-based principles into the therapy session. I enjoy helping others identify and explore harmful beliefs that do not serve them, exploring where those beliefs stem from, and pursuing a new experience. We wake up every day with old ideas, and not all of them are helpful. Being a part of others’ growth and self discovery is the bright spot of my life.

My areas of expertise:
In a world that strives to disconnect us from our innate power and intuition, my work centers around helping my clients embody the person they desire to be, with respect for their lived experiences. My goal is to work collaboratively with my clients to explore their inner world, help them draw meaning from their insights, and support them in developing the skills necessary to overcome any obstacles keeping them from their goals. I do not subscribe to the idea that I know what is best for you or have the “right” answers. Instead, I take a client-led approach allowing you to guide our journey at your own pace.
Using an integral approach, I treat mental health issues by exploring the entire person – mind, body, and spirit – in addition to understanding their environments, communities, and the world as a whole. My approach to therapy is liberation-based, trauma informed, and culturally-sensitive, and I strive to build upon the strengths and resilience you already possess. My education has equipped me with a wide range of frameworks and modalities that can be utilized to conduct therapy with individuals, groups, couples, and families.
My therapeutic style is centered around demonstrating empathy, compassion, and respect. I bring a grounding and caring energy to the spaces I occupy, and I strive to always hold space for my clients that feels safe and nurturing. One of my core strengths is my authenticity – I bring my whole self to the therapy room and invite you to do the same. I believe showing up authentically is the first step in healing our soul from unnecessary suffering. At my core, I’m a spiritual and naturally curious individual who enjoys exploring the complexity of the human experience.

I believe that meaningful change begins within an affirming therapeutic relationship—one that is built on trust, compassion, and collaboration—where clients feel truly understood. My approach is tailored to each person’s unique story, strengths, and goals to support their journey of healing, resilience, and self-discovery.
I work with individuals and families, with a special focus on youth, emerging adults, parents, and caregivers at all stages of the caregiving journey. I am dedicated to supporting those navigating trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, postpartum transitions, grief, substance abuse, and complex family dynamics. In addition, I am committed to providing inclusive care for LGBTQ+ clients and individuals from diverse backgrounds, honoring the intersectional identities that shape their experiences.
Therapeutic Approach:
My approach is integrative and strength-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and attachment-based therapies. I strive to help clients reconnect with their inner strengths, nurture healthier relationships, and live in ways that feel more authentic and fulfilling. I see life’s challenges not just as obstacles, but as opportunities for growth, healing, and deeper self-understanding. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients, offering support and encouragement as they discover new possibilities for themselves and their lives.

–Carl RogersAreas of Expertise:
I know reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. You might feel like you should have all the answers, but the truth is—you don’t have to go through hard times on your own. Asking for support is a sign of strength, and I’m here to walk alongside you.
With over two years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages and backgrounds. My goal as your therapist is to get to know you for who you truly are and work together on the goals that matter most to you. I’ll always keep your values and preferences at the center of our work.
I believe therapy should fit you—not the other way around. Sometimes that means creating a safe space where you can process your feelings at your own pace, and other times it means giving you that extra push when you need motivation. I have extra training in supporting children with learning differences (specifically autism spectrum disorder) as well as older adults navigating life’s later stages. With this, my training has prepared me to help people from all walks of life.
I understand how intimidating it can be to start therapy, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re willing to take the first step, I’ll be here to support you through this hurdle—and every step forward after.

"The journey of personal growth and healing requires that we are willing to stand in the discomfort of change, knowing that it leads to something greater." – Unknown
"You are not your past, and you are not the mistakes of others. You are the sum of your dreams, your choices, and the future you're creating." – Eva Longoria
About Me:Hi, I’m Roxana, and I’m here to create a safe, supportive space where we can explore what matters most to you with openness, curiosity, and compassion. I view therapy as a collaborative journey—sometimes as a partner walking beside you, other times gently challenging beliefs that no longer serve you, helping you uncover the strength, resilience, and wisdom already within.
My Approach:
True healing and growth happen when we face discomfort, embrace change, and step into the process of becoming who we are meant to be. Trauma can mean many things—it’s not just about major life events but can also stem from chronic stress, relational challenges, or feeling unseen and unheard. Coming to therapy takes tremendous courage, and I commend you for taking this step. This is your story, and I’m here to guide you toward clarity, confidence, and the tools you need to create the change you desire. I’ve learned through my own journey that healing is possible for everyone, though the path may look different for each of us. Therapy works best when you're open, willing, and ready to actively participate in the process, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences to help you move forward. And remember, you don’t have to have all the answers as therapy is a space for growth.
Focus Areas:
As an MFT trainee, I am passionate about working with individuals and families navigating life’s complexities. I have a particular interest in supporting first-generation Latinas facing challenges such as mother-daughter dynamics, cultural expectations, navigating bicultural identity, gender roles, and intergenerational trauma. I also aim to support college students navigating challenges such as high-functioning anxiety, where outward success can mask inner struggles, as well as loneliness, depression, academic pressures, and identity concerns. Additionally, I am passionate about helping women navigate unique life transitions, such as balancing multiple roles, advancing careers, or starting families, while focusing on building your confidence and sense of self. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, but I will work collaboratively with you to find the approach that best fits your unique needs and goals.

My areas of expertise:
No one comes to therapy because everything is going right. You’re here because things can’t go on like this. Something has to change. But what? That’s what I’m here for: to help you find a way forward. I believe that times of confusion and strife are also opportunities for breakthroughs. They call us to pause our old ways of thinking, and to begin the tough but rewarding exploration of our selves.
My goal is to help you help yourself. To do that, we’ll need to enter your pain in search of clarity. Eventually, that clarity will become your guiding light to a meaningful life.
Though I’m still in training, my background in understanding human life is deep and diverse. I’ve taught courses on depression and neuroscience, helped dose therapeutic psychedelics, and researched war and conflict. I’ve seen depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, PTSD, ADHD, autism, and more. I’m continuing to develop inexistential psychotherapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic analysis, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I am comfortable with and welcome trauma of all sorts.
To you, I will offer my ears, eyes, mind, and heart. In return, I need your honesty, courage, and hard work. I will guide you to the forest, but once there, you must lead the way. I’ll be right there with you.

Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee
Office: Auburn Blvd.“Without community, there is no liberation.”
— Audre LordeMy Approach
I approach this work with both compassion and conviction. Many clients come carrying the weight of trauma, identity struggles, or disconnection. These struggles are never only individual, they are shaped by family, history, and the larger systems we live within. I strive to create a space where your experiences are honored in their full complexity and where growth is possible without leaving behind the truths of your story.
I believe healing begins when silence is broken. My role is not to dictate a path forward but to walk beside you, asking the questions that help reveal what has been hidden. I hold that every person carries the capacity for their own renewal, and therapy is a place where that capacity can be nurtured, strengthened, and lived.
Areas of Focus
I work at the intersection of personal pain and collective history. This includes trauma, grief, and transition, as well as questions of identity and belonging; particularly when cultural or generational expectations are in conflict. I also explore family and ancestral legacies, recognizing how patterns and narratives are carried forward through generations.
These explorations often raise pressing questions: How do you stay whole in systems that divide you? How do you reclaim your voice when silence has been enforced by power? How do you move toward freedom while staying connected to community? These are not abstract questions but lived realities that point us toward responsibility, resilience, and liberation.
Therapeutic Style
My work is informed by existential and psychodynamic frameworks while rooted in cultural humility. I attend to the unconscious and early relationships, while also recognizing how culture, race, gender, class, and history shape our struggles and possibilities.
The therapeutic relationship becomes a place of accountability and care, where presence and trust allow new ways of being to emerge. Even amid struggle, I believe renewal and liberation remain possible, not only for the individual, but for the communities we belong to.
